Frequently Asked Questions
What is Coaching?
Coaching is powerful, dynamic, co-created relationship that supports people in getting clear on what they really, truly want in their lives, and then removing the roadblocks on their way to achieving those things.
As a Coach, I support my clients by being:
A Shiny, Reflective Mirror: I work to reflect the things I’m hearing in your speaking and behavior without judgement, criticism, or bias. This helps you get clear on the stories you’re telling yourself and how you’re getting in your own way.
A Possibility Partner: I work to evoke your heart when you talk about the life you want, so that instead of choosing what’s predictable or likely, you get on the path to a life you actually care about.
An Accountability Agent: We work to create structures and systems that will have you actually do the things you’re scared to do. Without accountability you’ll likely go back to doing what you’ve always done - choosing inaction and fear.
A Constant Reminder: My main job as a Coach is reminding you first and foremost of how amazing you already are, and secondly what’s possible for you in doing things differently!
How is coaching different from therapy or mentoring?
Therapy, Counseling and Psychotherapy are relationships in which you work with a licensed healthcare professional to diagnose and resolve problematic beliefs, behaviors and traumas. This is mostly focused on your history, and past experiences.
Mentoring is a semi-structured relationship in which a more experienced or knowledgeable professional provides advice, guidance, and possible solutions to assist other professionals with progress in their own careers and lives.
Coaching is a co-created relationship focused on the future. Through reflections, direct communication, and powerful questioning, the Coach supports the client in creating clarity about the experience of life they want to have, and the structures necessary to create that experience. As the Client is the “expert” in a Coaching relationship, it could be said that Coach sits on the same side of the table as their client, with them both taking a look at what’s working or not working in the client’s life.
Why do people work with a coach?
People work with a Coach because they’re ready to do things differently, invest in a support system for themselves, and because they desire a new, more powerful experience of themselves and of life.
More specifically, people work with me because of:
Obstacles in the way of loving themselves, loving others, and loving their career.
Dissatisfaction with their current relationships.
Support in creating THE relationship.
Connection and creation from their unique Life Purpose.
Desire to create more excitement, fulfillment, growth, and financial reward from work.
A yearning to live a life that's an adventure and is lived on your terms.
Wanting time to do things they love and that bring them joy (hobbies, travel, vacations).
A general readiness to take their lives to the next level.
how much does coaching cost?
Coaching is a powerful service you receive in support of creating your dreams, so there is a cost associated. I am a trained, highly skilled professional coach, constantly expanding my skills and tool set. My fees may be higher or lower than other coaches.
I don’t share my fees online because it is my firm belief that who you choose to work with should come from who you believe is the best fit for you and what you’re looking to create in your life. When you find that person, cost can become irrelevant. If we connect and feel like we’re a good fit, I’ll share the different ways you can work with me along with the associated costs so that you can make a powerful choice.
